Sex Forums: Sex Forums -> A slut? No! A boyfriend? Perhaps...

The other day me and friends we’re talking about a girl we all know; a new acquaintance. My friend mentioned a few guys she had slept with, unsurprisingly due to the size of the ‘scene’ we are in I have slept with guys she has slept with and my friends all have a guy or two in common with her also. I said in jest “The girls more of a hoe than I am!” It was simply wine talk and solicited laughs from the girls and we went on to mercilessly mocking somebody else. However it got me thinking; I regularly ‘put myself down’ so to speak and make comments about myself being a slut.

So once again I am having a ponder on the term, definition and sentiment of the word slut.

An online dictionary defines the word slut as;
1.a. A person, especially a woman, considered sexually promiscuous.
b. A woman prostitute.
2. A slovenly woman; a slattern.

I sadly am not paid for sex ( sure could do with money being a student) and I am certainly not slovenly, unkempt is not my thing its just how I like my guys.

Urban dictionary says;

In some cases, used to refer to a woman who is wearing "skimpy" or tasteless clothing.

And various versions of all of the above.

I have never in my life worn “skimpy” or “tasteless” clothing. Well maybe tasteless I have been known to wear the odd 80’s classic. “Slutty” clothes though? Never! Its simply not my thing whatsoever. I love fashion and my thing is vintage. Hell I don’t even leave the house without a pair of opaque’s on!

The first definition however I cannot disagree with. However I have decided from today I will not ever call myself a slut or similar even though I say it in jest to myself and friends. I’m single I’m 21 and I have fun. Bob Dylan told me I “could have my cake and eat it too” so I have been, who would argue Dylan? He also said “why wait any longer for the one you love.” This for me has a different meaning to probably others and has made me think so as during the next 12 months I reach 22 and a qualified nurse I think maybe I am finally ready to think about a boyfriend again.

So bring your applications forth if you don’t wash, have long hair and wear skinny jeans and appreciate my music taste is magnificent.
