Your mother makes you wear a jacket even on days its a little warm. The reason cause you never know. The colors of the world
are changing daily. Its really pretty to watch as everything gets ready to sleep for winter. It doesnt rain as often. No more
trips to the lake. More inside activities. Like skating, or movies. The hanging out with friends that you didnt see all summer.
The crisp feel of the leaves that fall from the trees.Mothers getting things ready for winter.
Winter is cold, with lots of snow. You arent allowed outside as much. The days get shorter, and shorter. When you are allowed out
your mother, and grandmother bundle you up so much you can barely walk. Of course as soon as you get outside out of sight half of
it comes off anyway. Just dont forget to cake snow on it so they dont know. The forts, the snowball fights, the sled rides.
Your face is chapped, and nose running. Then you hear your mother calling. Saying its time to come in. You will catch your death
if you dont get in here now. I always laughed at that one. Yeah okay I am out looking for my death? Sometimes mothers are just crazy.
I always used to laugh as I walked past her, she never knew why. Of course waiting inside was hot chocolate with marshmellow. Not the
packet kind, but the homemade stuff. It warms you up, and your nose stops running quickly.
Spring is when everything is reborn. The days start warming up, and your winter wonderland melts away. The grass starts turning green,
flowers blooming. The days start to get longer. You are allowed out with only a long sleeve. You are free to ride your bike once again,
to roller skate. It rains a lot, but its okay you can play in out in it. The puddles are fun splashing getting your feet wet. Your
mother grumbles over how dirty you get, or your feet getting wet. What is up with that all the older people thinking if your feet get
wet you are going to catch a cold. Seems to me your feet are a long way from your chest, and head so I cant figure out how that would
make you sick. Mothers spend lots of time cleaning the house airing out all the germs of winter. The wild flowers bloom. The boy next
door gives you flowers. The adults laughing about how you were going to grow up, and get married. Wait what I dont think so really?
The world smells clean, and fresh.
Summer it gets hot. You rarely wear shoes. Well when inside the house you run around in your panties. You hear the adults talking about
how your getting to old. Wait to old for what? Your not sure, but oh well life goes on. You spend lots of time climbing trees, riding bikes
being anywhere outside you can be.The skined knees, bruised egos.Hiding your tears when you fall. Your parents take camping, and to the fair.
The days are longer. You are allowed to stay up later. You watch the late, late, really late show on tv every friday night.
Then sleep a couple of hours before watching saturday morning cartoons.
You get to sleep on the screened porch.Know that when summer ends school begins again. Year after Year childhood left behind one year at
