I always wondered about peoples preferences in a partner. Now with women it seems they are more willing (on avg.) to like a man for his personality, etc. not always the looks. The avg. man does think a womans appearance is very important. I grew up in the city, so a chubby girl had a lot of competition with the cute skinny types. After I had moved into a small town, I noticed the guys were going out with chubby girls and less attractive girls. Not only was there culture shock from leaving the city, but this was a total surprise. I don't concider myself shallow minded as I try not to be judgemental. Truth is though I find a thin woman way more attractive to me. I was happy to see these guys were looking at these girls for who they are and not what they look like. I wonder if our upbringing changes our preferences?
