"You don't know what you don't know." I heard that phrase in reference to pompous doctors speaking to nurses. (I'm an RN, by the way.) but I think it's apropos to this subject. I wonder how many women have lived to old age never knowing a thing about their body. That is so sad! I consider myself lucky to be figuring out my body. I'd like to share with you some of what I've learned.
A decade ago I read a book about natural family planning. A short summary is that- a few days before you ovulate you get more wet and when you ovulate it becomes long and stretchy like egg whites. Your cervix softens and rises. This, of course, is no problem for me to observe seeing as I'm comfortable with putting all sizes of things in my orifices. Lol. Well, except my nose. Also your body temperature drops minutely. Once you know this, it's so OBVIOUS when you're ovulating. When you don't know this you're completely clueless. I taught my best friend this skill. She is very grateful.
Since day one, sex with my husband has been painful. It's like his penis hits my cervix. It feels like -oh I don't know - you got a tetanus shot and then an MMA fighter punches you in the arm repeatedly. Once I'm warmed up the cervix draws back and I'm ok. Unfortunately, my husband is a selfish lover and foreplay is rare. All the magazines say to talk to your OB/GYN if sex hurts so I did and she said to use lube. :( Seriously?! That has absolutely nothing to do with my problem. Well, 11 years after losing my virginity I have sex with another man. Then another. And another. And another. And I observe that I never have pain with anyone else!! Part of it, I'm sure, is that I'm turned on. But I seriously think the size of his dick matches the distance of the cervix exactly. Shorter or longer is OK, but his length - somewhere between five or six inches is a no go. The last time I saw my doctor she asked if there was pain with intercourse. I said, "yes, but I'm not worried. It's just because my husband and I are physically incompatable." :)
A few months ago I was surfing porn online and I came across this ad for a $100 program in which this guy teaches you how to make a girl squirt. Now I'm on a mission to squirt! I hadn't even heard of this phenomenon before and I'm 34 years old. I don't know if any of my friends know about it. This is practically a woman's rights issue. We deserve to come just like men do! Knowing about squirting also enlightened me to the fact that there are outside orgasms and inside orgasms.
I also, in recent weeks have come to learn about stroking a man's prostrate to take his orgasm to the next level. I can't wait to try that with the first man who will let me.
Who knows what I have yet to learn. I haven't played with toys yet so I'm sure there is discoveries to be made there.
