I feel good now, not nearly as dark as the first few posts would indicate.
I have had two weigh-ins since I last posted. At the first one I had lost 5 lbs and at the second one I had lost 2.6 pounds (and that was a holiday week, go me!)
Got my blood test results back, no mutations. I had them do a cholesterol test at the same time and it came back " LDL cholesterol < 131, excellent, keep up the good work" So then, cholesterol "excellent" and blood pressure 111/71 also considered excellent. So I am pretty healthy despite the fact that I am carrying 60 extra pounds?????? It must be all the hiking that I do.
Ahh the hiking. Yosemite was beautiful. We stayed the first night in Wawona campground, which was nice. It was full but not too loud. The next night we stayed in the camp curry cabins which was crowded but was cool because they had a lodge and a little cafe and a ranger slide show presentation. The last night we stayed in lower pines campground, which seemed like any other campground. I barely remember lower pines because I was so dog tired. We had hiked Half Dome that day (17 miles round trip, 5000 feet elevation gain/then loss) The view of the valley was phenominal.
E got some great waterfall shots. We wouldn't normally move from campground to campground like that but those were the only reservations we could get!
I went to the gym last night for the first time in a month (I hike so much in summer that I usually skip the gym but now that I'm on the program I want results!) I ran a whole 20 mins at 4 miles per hour. I know thats not much to some people but I have never been able to run. So that was a minor accomplishment.
