What would you do in this case?

She tells me her X husband was a habitual cheater. She said he was into picking up whores/prostitutes for what ever reason he had. She also tells me she had her tubes tide then had a hysterectomy after her third son so she cannot have anymore children. Of course I have to go on trust if I decide not to use a condom. We have not been intimate yet but we are planning on it in the near future.
I'm really concerned he could have caught something from one of these whores and passed it on to her. I'm not sure if he used any protection when he was cheating.
So should I bring this up as a concern? I've been with two women myself. Although condoms were used to prevent pregnancy, oral sex was involved.
So it could be a toss up if either one of us could have something and risk spreading it to the other person.
Would it be inappropriate to discuss this with her and agree to get checked out before we have unprotected sex? Or is this a mood breaker?
Since there are so many STDs out there it wouldn't be practical to get tested for everything. I would think just the incurable diseases like Herpes, HIV and Hepatitis.

As for her getting her tubes tied. Wouldn't there be paper work for that? When that time comes, and she wants you to not wear a condom, you could ask to see that I guess. I would think though, after having 3 kids already, she wouldn't lie about something like that.

Just make sure you don't make it sound like she's dirty or something. That would hurt her feelings irrevokably.
And definitely DON'T wait until you're about to have sex! That would be seconds from disaster for the mood and the relationship! Don't even do it with a condom until you've had this discussion with her. She should understand and if you handle it carefully, she won't be offended.

For example I know HIV can be detected with a blood test. But what about Herpes and other diseases?
I guess I'm mainly concerned about the diseases that cannot be cured like HIV and Herpes.
