Why is sharing a toothbrush gross?

I was having a discussion with some friends and I posed this question: You would suck, fuck, rim and otherwise swap bodily fluids with your lover, but then why is sharing your toothbrush seem weird or gross? It does to me but logically it doesn't make any sense.
Let the discussion begin!

When you brush your teeth you are cleaning them, removing any food particles stuck in your teeth, removing plaque and so on. It is just not something you want to be sharing, not the most desirable thing in the world.

A word of caution and also one that might put a cap on the subject is the transfer of bacteria that lead to gum diseases. According to the dental community, most folks that have these gum disorders do not realize they do until things get pretty nasty. It is also recognized that even folks with terrific dental habits also get the gum disorders so its not limited to those that are not sanitary in that department. Other bacteria laden fluids may not prove to be as catastrophic as this type of thing can be if left undetected.
Seems weird none the less to me...eat some ass, vagina, persperation, oral fluids you name it but don't even think about brushing your teeth with my brush...weird...really weird.
Gross topic but interesting discussions to come from it perhaps
