now that they've exhausted all scheduled negotiation dates, and officially canceled all games up to November. im starting to get a little pessimistic about the season... i thought for sure theyd have worked this out by now... i mean certainly a few % less is better than zero right? pssh millionaires.
anyways, how sad is everyone?
im sadder than Ryan Kesler after game 7 of the Stanley cup finals.

you shut your mouth sir! lol
clearly you've never been to a football game. bills tickets make sabres tickets look cheap... and at least the Sabres can win. i do remember that after the last lockout you could get sabers tickets for like $15 and the arena was like 1/3 full.
i guess i can understand because you're canadian, and you guys get straight jacked on ticket prices. i would not pay $70 to see the Oilers or the Flames play.
$123 for maple leafs tickets? seems low. i know that some less than dedicated Sabres fans will sell their Sabres tickets when the leafs come to town, and that will pay for most of their season tickets.

As for those knockin' the game. First of all, you need to know how to skate, very well, and know how to play the game. That's the beauty of the sport. Yes, watching someone get checked into the boards is awesome but just watching the players glide on the ice or breakaway is just awesome. It's not all about the fights but just watch the skill and technique of the skate and puck handling...you'd be amazed.

um no lol im sorry backcheck, but i bet you tell a hell of a bar story.
all the Olympic world records in speed skating are around 30 mph. Carl Hagelin, who set the nhl speed skating competition record at last years all star skills competition. 13.2 2econds to go around 356 feet = ~18 mph.
even if you take out the turns, its 178 ft in 5.8 seconds (timed it myself off the video) = 30.68 fps or around 20 mph.

And I was using sports Science numbers. But an olympic sprinter hits about 22-23mph, I can skate a hell of a lot faster. According to my speedo on my bike, I run about 21mph and while it's a shorter stretch, I can skate faster than that too. We used to skate the frozen runnoff ditches along the river bottoms farm land, 400 to 500 ft long, about 15 ft wide and almost perfectly straight. I ran track and had a friend that set a couple of school records race me, smoked him like he was sitting still. I'll stick to sports science.
lol i like you backcheck, but c'mon man.
you're putting yourself in league with Olympic athletes Usain Bolt's world record in the 100m puts him at 23.72 mph.
this is like claiming to have a 13" penis.
