Smoking and sex

The other day I decided to give up smoking. I figure this was a good enough reason if any.
Anyone who has given up smoking knows it is not easy. So far I've went from about a pack a day to 2-3 per day and only smoke when I get a real craving. Eventually by the end of this week I hope to be completely off of them. Last time I tried to quit was four years ago and it really messed with my system so I feel like I will have better luck reducing at first then quitting all at once.
I've mentioned in the past I've been having problems holding an erection for say more than 30 minutes. And since my G/F likes 15 minutes of fourplay that makes it worse.
I'm starting to wonder if another reason for the loss of erection is that smoking reduces the feeling in the penis. So when having sex if what I am feeling is not that great, after awhile it just goes limp. I've noticed in the past couple of years I have a harder time trying to get off when masturbating. When I was in my 20s I could get it done in just a few minutes. Now it takes me 10-15 minutes to get off.
Since I've drastically cut back on the nicoteen, I seem to have more feeling down there. But I don't know if it's just my imagination or there is something to it.
I haven't been with my G/F yet since I've cut back but next weekend we are planning a little get together so starting Wednesday I'm not going to smoke anymore. Or that is the plan anyway.
I was just curious if anyone who has quit smoking noticed that sex was much better afterwards? If they had more feeling in their penis.
I'm really hoping that my smoking habit is the cause of this because this is a good reason to quit if not for my health, for my love life.

IMHO, the key is commitment. If you are trying to quit smoking, you are admitting the possibility of failure. I decided that I had already quit, the end was over and no giong back. I had a mantra, "I don't do that anymore," acknowledging i used to smoke, but now I don't. And the only cigarette I've had since then was just for fun, at the end of my Melonie video - and I had to run out to buy those cigs - generic brand, good Lord, they've gone up as much as gasoline. :icon_eek:
But the key, as I said, is commitment. BTW, I didn't notice a change in my sex life except my wife liked to kiss me more than before... D:
