I have a dilema, I live in a really expensive part of the UK and i'm 21 so I don't earn a lot.
I'm quite unhappy living at home I have to pay £250 rent pcm already which I know isn't a lot but i'm weighing up just paying around £700 to have my own place and a different lifestyle away from my parents, maybe closer to town.
Does anyone know roughly how much would I need for a deposit for a flat? I already own lots of material stuff, golf clubs, tv, xbox, ps3, car, clothes etc so I don't anticipate spending on anything else apart from food and bills.

I agree. You could rent, but at the end of it all you wouldn't have anything to show for all the money you've spent.

That may be true for you but not everyone. I have owned one house and it felt like a prison. I like to be able to pack up and change towns at a moments notice if I chose. I hate yard work and all the crap that goes with owning a house also. So speak for yourself but you have no idea what is good for the next guy.
