Hi guys and dolls, question regarding burlesque classes

a little about me to start:
I am 35 and more than half my life i've had a serious body self esteem issue..to the point that i've been bilemic/anorexic and weighed in as little as 110lbs with a 5'8 body frame. now i'm about 165lbs and although not all flab, alot of muscle, I still have a horrible view about myself and it really takes a toll on my marriage/sexual relationship. i'm also very shy about showing my body (even to my husband) and 9 out of 10 times when having sex or even playing around, lights are out.
well i'm sick of feeling like this, hating my body and not loving me. i've gone through therapy for years to try and help with this, i've worked out to the point of looking short a body builder...but still no self esteem. my husband is a VERY loving man, he has seen me at my best and at my worst and just loves my body no matter what...ya would think that would help me, but unfortunately, it doesnt. (maybe sometimes it does, but not often).
So here's what i'm contemplating doing...
i've been reading about strip tease and burlesque classes. i'm looking at attending one or both these classes here in my hometown. But my question is, are there any women here that have gone through these classes and what was your experience?
Any input would be wonderful, even you guys that have been with a woman that has takin these type classes and you saw what it did for them, feel free to chime in.
thanks a lot.

I've done burlesque classes, they were two years ago now. To be honest, it was fun more than anything doing them, they didnt do anything for my self esteem, they just were a laugh to do.
I'm sure you are very beautiful and you're weight for your height is good.
I understand hating your body and having low confidence issues, I lost 24lbs thinking it would improve mine but to be honest it really doesn't, you're still the same person inside as you always were so it takes a lot more than that. Even having your husband telling you, you look great doesn't help, I understand that too.
Hopefully someday it will just click in you.
good luck with the burlesque classes, you'll have a riot doing them! its very very good.
oh and welcome back
