Not English!!! It originated in the celtic world (Ireland, Britain, france)!!! Its the pagan celtic harvest festival .... originally called Samhain, where bonfires and carved out turnips where lit to ward away the evil spirits that were thought to be brought on by the darkening of days. The reason it is now called Halloween is because the christian church took over November the 1st as all saints day ... making the night before ... all hallows eve ... then they moved the tradition of lighting bonfires to the 5th of November to celebrate to foiled plot of guy fawks. ..... !!!!!!! ......

White or bluey/ grey pumpkins sound interesting! I didn't think they came in different colours lol!!
