Question for the completely straight guys

I've heard some guys say they would be really weirded out if another guy were to hit on them and have even heard some say that it would be disgusting. I remember when I was in community college a friend of mine saying he was a little weirded by a gay guy we were aquaintances with discussing his crushes and attractive guys he saw. But then again I grew up around people who could be described as slightly homophobic though so perhaps thats not so typical?

ie, being hit on is ok, ignoring 'no' isn't.
What do you think darkgentleman? And why do you ask?

I'm just curious because sometimes I might see a nice looking guy but I'm very hesitant to be obvious about checking him out or complimenting him or whatever partly because if he's straight he might be offended.
Since none of my friends know this about me I also tend not to be overt about checking guys out for that reason as well when I'm with someone else.
But I definately hear you about people ignoring when you say I'm not interested that's definately not cool.

i just wish women who were interested in me would be as forward as the gay and bi men are.

You seem like the sort of person who would be polite. As far as I'm concerned, that's cool. It's when anybody, male or female, can't take "No" for an answer that I have a problem. And I don't regard drugs or alcohol as a legitimate excuse for rude behaviour from anybody.

I can't remember what I said to him, but it was something very nice as he is a really awesome friend. Thing is, we were both drunk so it probably came out exaggerated.
In response he said "oh, well, you know... I mean I think you're a nice guy... but... "
I wasn't sure why he seemed unusually nervous, but I soon realised he thought I was hitting on him, which is wierd coz he's my buddy!!
So I got confused, then he suddenly realised ohhhhhh I wasn't intending it to come out like that and we just broke in stiches laughing it was such a odd situation
He told me he's used to gay guys chasing after him even tho he's as straight as a straight man can get... my gf and I are trying to hook him up with a lady, he really deserves a great girl.
