Take painkillers regularly at first for your pain. To help with healing add more protein and calcium to your diet. Then find your female brain to multitask with one hand because us ladies do amazing things things with one hand while holding a baby in the other!!! However don't over do it, rest then activity then rest sequence!
I broke my left wrist when I was 10 and it was in plaster for 6 weeks!
Hope you feel in less pain soon and heal well!

For those who have never experienced this, there is nothing else like it. First of all, you don't feel it because your body goes into shock. You get dizzy, disorientated, you vomit. Then the pain hits, like a million razorblades, as soon as the endorphines wear off. Every time you move the pain is so shocking you feel like being sick. I had a toe ripped off in a door when I was three. It grew back in. It was nothing like this. Broken collarbone. Feels worse than a severed toe. Who knew? At least now I know I can survive anything. The pain just makes me stronger. I will never give in.

As for me, I've never broken a bone... I think I'm heavy boned, but I've twisted my ankles, knees, back too many times to remember. I used to dance a lot, so that comes with it. Right now, I strained my back trying to handle my 9-year old, who weights about 90 pounds and who's not very keen on cooperating. I couldn't even bend to tie my shoe laces, but I'm glad to report that it's healing well after a week of rest.
In the mean time, here you have a little get-well card...

Well, I have no clue as to what snoogiepuss means, but I hope this counts as nose rub and a cuddle...

MS, I hope you're feeling better soon. I know it will take a while to heal, but I hope that you're as comfortable as you can be while you're out of order.
