I'm a SF Greeter, a Moderator, and an Adam & Eve Brand Champion, and I will give you information that should make your time on the site filled with pleasure. If you have any questions, there are several options available to you.
1. You can contact one of SF's Greeters, including me. You can contact me via Private Message by visiting my profile. Click the "Send A Message" button on the left.
This works the same way for every member. I will get back to you ASAP and either answer your question or direct you to someone who can. The other Greeters are - in alphabetical order - canuck(m), ChelSD(f), citrussweet(f), English(m), HollowBodyMan(m), Jade(f), jojopwnage(m), LuvBug(f), ♪♫Lyrical♫♪(f), Mico(m), MissB.Haven™(f), MissKendoKid(f), rachybaybeh(f), redgreen(m), thicktrick(m), and xeste the strange(m). The letters behind their usernames here tell you whether the Greeter is male or female. If you have a sensitive or embarrassing question or one that's better suited for either a man or a woman to answer, feel free to contact whoever you feel the most comfortable talking to. SF Greeters will have the Greeter badge. If you click on the link, you will be taken to the badge page - this page is always up-to-date and will always provide the list of current Greeters.
2. You can contact one of the site's Moderators (Mods), including me, or Administrators (Admins). Some Mods and Admins act as Greeters as well. The other Mod-Greeters and Admin-Greeters are - in alphabetical order - badboy03(m, Mod), Harmony(f, Mod), Jewelz(f, Mod), LadyR(f, Mod), Noxie(f, Mod), and rosc(m, Mod). Mods and Admins have many roles within the SF community. Sometimes we have to act as "SF police" in that we also make sure our members are following site rules so that being a member is fun for everybody. However, I was a member of SF long before I became a Mod, and I'll always be a member first. Please don't treat me any differently just because my username is purple. If you need to talk to an Administrator or site management, please contact davstar.
3. You can check the "Help & Feedback Forum" for other members who are having the same issue or asking the same question you are having/asking. If you don't see a thread that matches your issue or question, then you can create a new thread. If you are a VIP member, you can also check the "VIP Help Forum."
Before you post a thread, start a blog, send a PM, or venture into Live Chat, please consider doing the following things:
-Finish filling out your profile. You're more likely to generate interest in your profile by filling out as much of the information as you are comfortable providing.
-Don't forget to fiddle with your settings. You have many options for making parts of the site available or turning parts of the site off and making them unavailable. You can also choose to "opt-out" of certain features using your settings.
-Read over the site's rules. There's no sense in getting reprimanded, suspended, or banned from SF for breaking a rule.
-If you need additional information, read over "SexForums.com 101."
-Visit the Shoutbox and meet other SF members in a casual environment. The Shoutbox is located at the bottom of the page. There are some pages where you won't see the Shoutbox (like the Live Feed page).
Let me take you through a few of the site's popular features. You can get to many of these features by using the bar at the top of the page.
Discussion Forums: Here is where you'll find the "meat" of the site. There are forums and threads/topics for everyone here. Try browsing the General Sex Chat forum first. You can find the week's hottest threads here.
Gallery: You can browse the Gallery and post your own pictures. You can also rate other members' pictures and leave comments.
Live Chat: LC is for chatting and meeting other members. You can chat about casual topics and get to know other members, "whisper" privately to other members, add other members to your Friends list, and have cyber sex (including cam sex) in LC. There's even a VIP-only chat room that is password protected. (If you are a VIP member who wishes to access the VIP-only LC room, please contact me for the password.) If you are having issues with other members in LC (i.e. you are being flamed, abused, or harassed by another member), please contact a Live Chat Moderator. Their usernames will appear in red at the top of the list on the right side of your window. And be aware that you might not always be able to see all of the LC Mods who are present, so it's a good idea to mind your manners, even when you don't think there are any LC Mods in the chat room.
And here's a screen shot of the Chat Mods' names in red.
Blogs: Visit the Blogs section to read other members' blogs or start your own. If you visit my blog, please leave me a comment. You can also visit jstar's blog for more information about the site's features. Many Greeters, Mods, and Admins have blogs, and blogging is just one more way in which you can become involved in the SF community. For information about maintaining a good blog, see these tips.
Reputation Points: Reputation points can be earned for various content you post around the site. Typically, other members will "rep" you - or give you a reputation point - for posting something helpful that contributes in a positive way to a discussion or the site as a whole. Maybe you posted an especially helpful response in a thread because you've been through the situation yourself. Or maybe your gallery pictures are exceptionally good. You are allowed five reputation points per day to give to other members as you see fit. These points do not carry over if you don't use them, so you lose them at the end of the day. Your reputation points will be replenished each 24 hours if you use all of them. To award a reputation point, you can use the small, green "+" button in the bottom right corner of a member's post in a thread. In the gallery, there is a "Give Reps" button to the left of the member's photo. If you want to know how many reputation points you've earned, you can check your profile on the left side under the buttons. You will also see a reputation description based on the number of points you've earned. For example, I currently have 410 reputation points and a reputation description of "Excellent," which means that I have an excellent reputation around the site for posting quality material.
Google +1 Button: This feature is relatively new but is similar to reputation points. Google says, "The +1 button is shorthand for 'this is pretty cool' or 'you should check this out.'" Unlike reputation points, which can be used by all members, the Google +1 Button requires you to have a Google or Gmail account. Signing up for a Google or Gmail account is free. Also, there is no daily limit for using the Google +1 Button. You will see this button at the top of each SF page throughout the site on the right side, and you can click the button on as many pages as you like. Finally, while you are not allowed to give yourself reputation points, you can use the Google +1 Button on your own SF content. The Google +1 Button is related to the Rock Star badge, which recognizes the top 25 members who have contributed "the best items on SexForums." More about badges below.
Badges: There are many badges that members can earn for doing various things around the site. For example, you can earn the Blog Master badge if your blog is one of the top five monthly blogs. You can earn badges for posting in forums. The Yoga Instructor badge is earned in the Physical Health forum, and the Ellen badge is earned in the LGBT forums; the Freshman, GrandLuxe, and Naked Ninja badges are earned when you acquire points by accomplishing tasks like completing your profile and uploading pictures; and the Friend Magnet and Headhunter badges are earned by making new friends and recruiting new members (respectively). There are many more badges you can earn - and SF will give you suggestions about which badge you could earn next. Look on the main SF page on the left to see these suggestions. You can also see which badges you've earned by checking your profile.
Note: I don't have any suggestions there right now, but you should see suggestions in this area.
When you are ready to start a new thread/topic:
-Make sure you're posting the thread in the proper forum. If you have a question about oral sex, start your thread in the "Oral Sex" forum. If you want to share a sexy story, start your thread in the "Sex Stories" forum. This saves Mods time because we are the ones who move threads that are posted in inappropriate sections or forums to a place where the thread is more appropriate and on-topic.
-Before you start a new thread/topic, check the forum to make sure that no one has posted the same question. This will help you to avoid posting duplicate threads/topics. Sometimes members - especially ones who have been members for a long time - get tired of answering the same questions over and over again. If you post a thread like this, it's likely that you won't get many responses from more seasoned members because they've already answered your question several times before.
-If you find that nobody else has posted a thread that asks your question, post a new thread. When posting a new thread, please make sure your question is clear. Provide the appropriate background information. Including as much information as possible will help other members to answer your question and provide appropriate responses. Too little information can leave potential posters confused and may cause them to choose not to post.
When you are responding to a thread/topic:
-Please remember SF's rules. Be polite (or civil at the very least) and don't flame other members. That type of behavior will get you reprimanded, suspended, or banned.
-Try to avoid duplicate posts. This is sometimes unavoidable if you're having speed issues with your browser. However, do your best not to click the button more than once.
-Make changes and edit your post quickly, if necessary. Time is of the essence. You will not be able to go back and edit your posts in threads later.
-If you're responding to a specific member, quote that member in your response. You can quote multiple members at one time by using the "MultiQuote" button.
Take some time to familiarize yourself with the site. I'm here - along with the site's other Greeters and Mods and SF's Admins - to guide you along the way.
