Any one wax themselves?

I have had a professional wax done, about 3 times, and the pain wasn't an issue (and in a small way, it was quite pleasurable ). I loved the smoothness of it, and how long the hair stayed away for.
Does any one else (preferably female) wax themselves? What sort of wax do you use, and do you have any tips?

I always have professional waxing done and after years of having it, I don't have any hair any more. Just little bits that need tidied up, hell I don't even have enough for a proper landing strip

I don't know what the average cost of a bikiini wax is, probably varies geographically, but where I live I spend $30 each time I go. Just be sure you're not PMSing when you go or you might be more sensitive. I am! Also, be sure your waxer wears disposable gloves during your appointment and that they don't double dip the applicators they use on you. I thought I'd heard New jersey? had considered outlawing bikini waxing after some clients claimed they'd gotten herpes after a bikini wax. This would be possible if the salon doesn't practice good hygiene at every appointment.

It's really not worth doing yourself. There's a good chance she'll either miss spots, make a mess, or burn herself. I'd understand if it were her legs or underarms, but for the rest she should leave it to professionals.

I'm qualified to do bikini waxing, have been qualified for about 10 years but never worked in a salon, I only went to learn so I could do my friends etc. I prob wax someone about once every 7 or 8 weeks and I find that I get nervous doing everything for them as i'm always wary of burning, pinching the labia or having to go over the same area twice. Waxing around the labia and anus is very difficult to do if you aren't experienced in it and because the hair is course and grows in many different directions, you could end up with blisters, bruising and little splits in the skin, not to mention infected follicles.
Just spend the money once every two months and get it done professionally, its well worth it.
