Shaving and Razor Burn, etc

If you saw my pics, you know that that was the first time I'd been shaved. And holy shit, were the first few days after hell!
Well, I shaved again today and it was much easier .
Any advice on the whole prickly hairs thing? help with razor burn? do you get little bumps at the base of the new hairs? what to do about them as I find them unsightly and would rather be hairy than see those things.

Did you find one especially for that area? I've heard its bad to use leg stuff there.

I just rub an exfoliant on the shaven part every day. I just use a tiny little bit, but every day and it seems to have worked. I also make sure that I put some (more than usual) on right before I shave, and also let warm water run on the area before shaving. I've found that works for me.

and as for your question, make your first pass WITH the grain and don't press into the skin...let the weight of the blade cut on it's own, and then do a light against-the-grain pass
use some moisturizer, and try to shave in the shower because the warmth will open up your pores making it a bit easier on your skin

The Nair or Veet depilatory creams you do gotta watch out for. I would only apply that on the area on top and not actually down around the vag lips. If you get it there you will for sure regret it! It burns like hell!
I use the Sally Hanson waxing kit and its pretty easy. You just heat the wax in the micro and trim the strips to the size you need and voila! If you pull the strip immediately after you are done smoothing it down onto the wax it does not hurt that bad. Its a big sting that only lasts for about 20 seconds after you pull the strip off. Now after waxing the area will be a little red and irritated for about 24 hours, but after that you'd be all smooth for at least 6 weeks. I don't do the vag lips with the wax either. I'm too chicken! I just shave down there every couple days if I've waxed the top.
