Going home with a guy from the club = sex?

I’ve been having this argument with a (male) friend who, like me, is a virgin and looking for people’s opinion. If a guy wants you to go home with them, or if you want a guy to come home with you, does it mean that sex (as in intercourse) is a 100% done deal?
I go to clubs often to have fun and dance with my girlfriends and I’m well aware that 90% of guys there are just looking to hook up, but if they try it on me, they soon discover they’re talking to the wrong type of girl – I’m just not interested – that’s not why I’m there. Sometimes though, I meet people I went to school with – nice guys – and I’d be interested in getting a number if I could. This started the argument with my friend because he asked if I would ever go home with them and I said ‘maybe’. He called me a ‘liar’ because he ‘knows’ I would never have sex with someone I didn’t know very well.
But surely you don’t HAVE to have sex, right? And by that I mean all-the-way-sex. Of course I realise that the guy would expect SOMETHING and I wouldn’t go unless I was willing to partake in that something. So surely limits can be set, right? But my friend said, and I quote “You don’t go home with a guy if you're not going to have sex with him. You just don’t.” I find it frustrating hearing him say things like that to me because he is a virgin and has only ever had one girlfriend but he lectures me about what I should do with guys.
I’m not saying I have any intentions of going home with anyone, but now it’s on my mind. What if someone I really liked asked me to and I really wanted to go but I didn’t want to have sex?

If you are female, and the guy is not homosexual, sex WILL always cross their mind. They may be sickened by it if you are not “pleasing to the eye”, but it will be considered especially if taking him home is part of the scenario.
You may get replies that guys are not always looking for sex…. Right! Maybe if they just had their leg amputated, but just wait until the tourniquet is applied.
