I thought I would create this thread out of intrigue. I was watching "A clockwork orange" today for the first time and I thought wow this movie is quite crazy haha. Joker Needs Advice

Hello people
I am seeking advice from all of you today on a number of matters. My first problem is relationships, I will be honest I have not had a relationship for many years at the beginning it didnt bother me however as I have gotten older I have been more open to the fact that I am lonely in the intimate relationship department, I have had a deep think about this today and can only resolve that it may be down to my appearance
I have long had some trouble with my weight I am quite the heavy fellow but it seems to me that girls who I like never seem to look beyond my looks I maybe wrong. I want to know is this truly the case are looks the biggest factor to a relationship or is there more to it, am I doing something wrong ?
This whole episode has came about because I like this girl at the moment she has a good sense of humour, extremely pretty etc I have had quite a few rejections before so I fear this maybe what is causing it. But what do you guys think?

Hello All
This is my 1000th post since I joined this site 4 years ago and I would like to thank all of the members and staff who made the experience of SF truly amazing for me it really has been fantastic. I have had the ultimate pleasure of becoming moderator and help other members who where in the same stages as me when I first started out. I have felt myself mature alot when I came to this website and for that I thankyou all
I have made some truly amazing friends who share my interests and have a wonderful humour i.e. saying I dress in a Rolando Villazon mask and stalk the singer 
you know who you both are haha. But thank you all for a truly amazing experience

Nature vs Nurture

Hey All
I decided to create this topic because it has been a life long debate to many psychologists (many fields), scientists and etc throughout their career, I want to know your views on the subject. For those not clear on the subject here is the meaning:
Nature - Behaviour that is the result of genetic factors (genetic predisposition) and etc (mainly biological)
Nurture - The result of behaviour that is learned from our enviroment through positive and negative reinforcement (mainly behaviourism and social)
So common questions are:
1) Does a criminal commit crimes because of Genetic predisposition or because they learnt that behaviour through reinforcement etc (e.g. having a bad upbringing).
2) Are disorders such Schizophrenia, Biopolar etc the result of biological influences or learnt?
