Looking into the future will men become surplus to requirements when it comes to fathering children? 

When you think about it one guy can produce how many millions of sperm from one ejaculation? Enough to fertilize every egg carrying female on the planet. 

Then you get into some strange territory, what if every child had the same father, that's a little creepy to my mind.

With advances in IVF over the recent decades 'test tube' babies are almost a matter of course, and yes their are a variety of reasons families are started that way, infertility in a partner, low sperm count etc.

When science gets to the stage where parents can select sex, hair colour, eye colour etc, will science have gone too far?

I'm sure we cannot even imagine how society will be in say two hundred years time, look back to the 1800's to now, we must live in some bizarre world compared to back then with our iPads and 3DTV's and easily accesable global travel.

So will men and the penis eventually get replaced by a more efficent delivery system of chromosones and DNA?
