I'm sure we've all done it, seen a fabulous trailer for a movie and then after seeing it made the remark 'all the best bits where in the trailer'.

But I guess that's why it's called 'the movie industry' once you've purchased your cinema ticket they have sold their product.

There's also the school of thinking that the more people involved in a project the more 'watered down' or futher from the original concept a project becomes. 

How many books have turned into mediocore films?

With a book there are not budget constraints. This also explains why more great albums of music have been produced, a tight group of individuals working for an end result.

It's not cheap going to the cinema so it's really annoying when a film is a lemon. A few days ago I struggled to stay awake during 'Inception' there was all this state of the art effects but really I couldn't have cared less what happened to the characters in it, you knew the goodies would win, there was zero tension, zero plot twists, just fancy visuals. 

Ironically it took place in dreams, so perhaps they wanted viewers to doze off and I'm missing the point possibly?

As an antedote to a bad cinema experience I went along to Toy Story 3 (3D) and that was terrific, of course Toy Story is totally unreal, but Pixar did an excellent job and it was a great movie, of course it was a formula, but they mixed it up.

I did find the Spanish Buzz Lightyear a bit of a copy from the Halo Internet series Red v Blue where one of the characters had a malfunction and ended up bring Hispanic too, I wondered if Pixar had plagarised that idea, but that was a tiny niggle.

Movies are rollercoaster rides, fun escapism, they can transport us to places a gazillion miles away from the everyday, and that's why I still dig the lights dimming and antcipation.

Yes Hollywood is fake we all know that, what was intresting was it was either Lenin or Stalin said 'if I could have one thing from America it would be Hollywood' which is an intresting remark, and one to ponder.

The flipside of Summer blockbusters last night I watched 'Damned United' a movie about English soccer manager Brian Clough. A tiny budget movie but a superb piece of work, zero CGI, yes give me a good script/storyline and human interest coupled with string acting and I'm a happy camper, damn just dropped my popcorn!

Note to self: don't compose Blogs in the cinema...
