I have always thought, Or at least for the last month since I arrived, that SF is a great place, and that the people who inhabit SF are a very kind and friendly and accepting sort of people. But in truth I don't think I really had any idea just how kind and friendly and absolutely amazing some of the people on SF were.
Now I have been banned from mentioning specific names or identifying anything particular, but what I will say is that at the moment I am university student as most of you know, I am also not very wealthy. I make very little money at the moment and I am currently quite heavily in debt, any extra money I can sneak past my debters goes on either food or on improving the quality of the equipment my students have access too at my martial arts dojo. Infact I will often put my students ahead of myself and buy cheaper food so I can invest in better quality equipment for my students than if I bought better quality food.
I am a bit bad about such things. Currently the costs of my university course includes certain books that allow you to complete the course without buying external books, but the final scores you get at the end, without buying additional books on certain subjects it becomes very difficult to score high marks for referencing and quantifying/qualifying evidence on essay and report style assignments and courses.
I recently blogged about having a prang or minor crash in my car and the cost of that has eaten up allot if not all of the money I was getting ready to buy books to help me with my university work.
Well here comes the happy bit,
Here on SF there is a little guardian angel, a man or woman who is so kind and generous that he or she has been kind enough to assist me in my acquiring of certain books, they have pledged a certain amount towards my university reference and research books, and although it won't buy my a library it'll certainly give me a much better base of which to write reports and essays for my university courses, especially my Essay and Report based course on sporting psychology.
This is more than I could ever have asked for or expected and I have thanked said person profusely, at first I even refused their gift because I am not in the habit of accepting other peoples gifts, allowing others to take on costs I feel should be mine.
However he or she convinced me in the end to accept the gift and to purchase books with it, although he or she did make a few jokes about other purchases.
Once I have purchased books with this gift I am going to give him or her a full list of what I purchased and now I am roving across big lists of books trying to figure out which ones would be best to get, whether I should go for one large one that bits up the entire gift, or several little books of different perspectives that will give less comprehensive but more all engaging evidence sources for my work.
Whichever way I spend this amazing gift, whether on one big text book or loads of little reference and subject books, I would like to say this.
You know what you did,
You know who you are,
I can't thank you enough,
You're an angel, a Star,
I wish I could give you,
A gift in return,
I wish I could send you,
My heart for to spurn,
Instead I will thank you,
Though I can't give your name,
I will call you my hero,
And shout out all the same,
For I am so very grateful,
For what you did gift,
I can't thank you enough,
A stress you did lift,
