Yoga for mental health

A lot of psychological issues have to do with pain, or rather the perception of pain, and what yoga does is strengthens your mind to handle higher level of pain. In a way its mind over body, even though many pain perceptions actually originate in the mind rather than the body.
Other issues have to do with focus and concentration, and here again yoga forces your mind to focus inwardly on one thing, you. Learning how to concentrate this way spills over into all other aspects of focusing, whether at work, at play, or even during sex in terms of providing you more control over your sexual responses.
Yoga also helps with issues related to self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and many others as well. If you have any of these issues, its worth a try! - suz

I am new to yoga, but have studied it quite a bit. It is excellent for relaxation, especially if you have a nervous type personality. I am adding yoga, tantra and Kama Sutra in me quest for health and wellness

I used to do hardcore yoga, and just holding the poses and meditating normally totally helped me relax with everything.
