Tailbone injury/what to do with myself?

Over the weekend I took a lot of painkillers and just laid around with ice packs waiting to get better. No luck. Went to the doctor today and he believes I may have a fracture----which would mean 6 weeks of bed rest.
Anyone ever have this injury before? It by far the most painful I've ever had. Any shifting of my pelvis sends me into pain. I'm so sick of laying around already and I have to for at least another week. There just is no comfortable position.
I have movies, books, ordered a pizza, can play a bit of poker online......any other ideas of what I can do to fill the time? Any good online games someone would recommend?

I realize that there's not much that can be done for a coccyx fracture (like ribs or toes...you just need to wait it out), but I'm very surprised that he didn't give you an x-ray to determine exactly what is causing you this pain, if only to rule anything out. The difference between a bone bruise and a fracture makes a world of difference as far as how long you need to take it easy. Shame on him for not solving the issue that you seeked him out for.
Good luck to you LQ, but if I were you, I'd find another doctor.

Sadly, there is no drunken story to go along. But it's kind of a funny tail! (Haha, tale, good pun.) I was rollerblading and wanted to sit on a bench to catch my breath. But as I was transitioning from the pavement to the grass, I didn't stop enough. So my legs went over my head and I cracked the ground with the top of my ass. I was stunned for a second, then tried to get up, but couldn't move or feel the lower half of my body. I thought I was paralyzed. I started yelling, "Help! Help!" to people around me. Some people were standing about 100 or 200 feet away. They didn't move. I kept yelling and then they started looking around. I got pissed! "Call 911! I can't move!!" Then they finally snapped into it and came over. One of the people started dialing 911 but the sensation had already returned to my legs. The people apoligized and said my "Help!" had sounded like one of the seagalls.
The reason I didn't get an xray is because I want to wait a few more days and see if (hopefully!) it's just bruised. I'm awaiting my loan money for school and don't have much money. Also, he said if it was fractured, I'd be looking at six weeks of bed rest (no sitting!! only laying). Which means I can't take summer courses. Which means I wouldn't graduate at the end of the summer. Which means not going to Rutgers in the fall!! I'm not letting some stupid ASS injury stop me from going to Rutgers. So I guess I'm not exactly pumped to get any bad news.
He also mentioned a rectal exam! Eeek! I guess it's another way to diagnose a fractured tailbone.
I have a muscle relaxer and Tylenol with codeine, but they make me feel so groggy, kinda stupid, and depressed. I took them all weekend. Today I decided to do just with ice.
I guess tailbone injuries aren't all that uncommon! Glad to hear some of you can sympathize with me! Thank you.

When you asked about online games, I immediately thought of MMOs (role-playing games with thousands of other people). They're a total time-sink which sounds like pretty much what you need right now. If that's something you think you'll need (i.e. if you have to lay in bed for 6 weeks), I'd highly recommend World of Warcraft. It's one of the best ones out there. Though, you might have a hard time getting back out of it when school starts up again. It has a 10-day trial period if you'd want to give it a shot, and is around $15 a month or so after that if you'd want to keep going. It can seem like a lot, but there's not much better if you want all of your time to disappear.
