Young daughter just might be touching herself Anyone seen the same?

As a little boy i remember touching and feeling myself quite early, but i want to get some inside on that for little girls. There must be other parents here who had to deal with this? How do you do? I'm not trying to prevent it at all, but i'd wish to explain her nicely that it must be done only by herself in private, that right in the middle of the room is not a good place; i'm also worried it might be a little early, but then i'm no specialist.

But before/if it gets removed, just letting you know this behaviour is very common in both sexes and at this early age.
Google it for your own info.
Also, you're right about how you handle this with a minimum of fuss and discreetely ensuring that she knows this is private behaviour etc. Make sure you tell her there's nothing wrong with it, she shouldn't feel ashamed etc. (don't want to give her a complex/guilt later in life) but emphasise the private bit.
You sound like you're pretty on the ball and a great Dad!

But to echo what Princess Olivia said, it is natural and just a passing phrase.
