Pleasantly surprised by a young lady.

We take our breaks together when possible and I occasionally give her a ride to or from work. She came to see me during my week long hospitalization last fall. She has a boyfriend, a nice young man who is cool with her being friends with me.
She left before I did today, and I told her to have a great evening. She ran up to me, gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and said "I love you Gramps. I dont know what the hell I would do without you."
She made this one of the best days I have had in a long time.

I wont get in to her health problems here but that girl is sicker than hell. She gave me the run down last week at work. She takes about 10 pills a day and has doctors appointments every couple of weeks.

I do not mind "gramps" at all, especially from her. "Old man" is another nickname she has for me. Being 51 and chronically ill I have to have a sense of humor.
My names for her are "dimwit" and "doofus" :lol:alt='' />
It all started a few months ago when I noticed she was stressed out as hell. I made faces at her and she looked at me like I was nuts, then started laughing. It was maybe a week later when I became quite ill and spent a week in the hospital. Because of her illness she is discouraged from visiting people in the hospital but she put on a mask and came anyway, even helping my fat ass get out of bed so I could go to the bathroom. I was in pain, not in a great mood, so she told me dirty jokes that would make a sailor blush ;)alt='' />
