But wouldn't that require them to actually work? Oh no, we can't have that can we now. They are afraid that we might come to expect something more from our elected officials.

Yup. We get to choose from a do-nothing congress and a disastrously inept activist administration.

Wait, you actually WANT THEM TO do something? the founding fathers carefully set up a system that does NOT work smoothly! they did NOT want a bunch of laws being written every year, smothering Americans.

They set it up so it would be very hard to enact big changes. But imperial presidents and recalcitrant congresses werent what they had in mind, me thinks.
I'm sorry? "Get to work, people?" Your post reminds me if a popular bumper sticker that says "work harder, millions on welfare are depending on you."
Are you telling me that because someone else isn't feeding thier children, that I am responsible to do so? Like, they sent their kids on a cross continent journey through dangerous ass places, and that somehow obligates me to take care of them?
Fuck that. The parents of those children who sent thier kids through cartel-controlled border area are responsible for the health and nutrition of thier children. If you want em fed, get your own ass to work and stop telling me to.
