Can anyone suggest a good upper body workout for a guy with a fucked up shoulder

So far, any kind of bench press or shoulder press movements, even with low weight causes an unsettling clicking/popping sound in my shoulder joint and days of faint, throbbing pain. This sucks, because I feel like my arm muscles are turning to goo from lack of use.
It would be nice to find a good upper body strength workout that specifically bulks up the muscles I need to compensate for what my shoulder tendons no longer do.
