They are probably all about the same. I have not tried the Oragel idea but I imagine the ones marketed for that purpose are pretty equally effective.
Yes, you can use them without a condom. Just be sure and just use a little (don't swab it on like a lube) and rub it into the skin until it is pretty well dry. Then it won't rub off on/in your partner. I have no idea what they taste like.

Sounds normal to me.
Unless you're trying to impress a different girl every week, I see no reason to try and make every penetrative encounter you last 40 minutes. Believe me, women don't want that nearly as often as you think.
Spend more time on foreplay and get good at giving her an "O" with your fingers or your tounge prior to penetrating. As long as she's gotten her's a time or two before you unload, everyone will remain happy.
If it's a real issue, just masturbate prior to expected sexual intercourse.
