I have been in a relationship for 5+ years. We border somewhere on the lines of f--- buddies/actual boyfriend and girlfriend. I call him my boyfriend because he is more than just a f--- buddy.
We have adopted rules as we go along. The main one is, NO "cheating". If you decide to stray, you must inform the other party. He has strayed twice; me, once. (Not that I haven't had the opportunity; the circumstances weren't right.) At first, this was hard on me, but after I chose to stray, I finally understood what it was all about. Mostly, nothing.
Everytime one of us chooses to leave, we come back and have more appreciation for each other than ever. The sex is beyond phenomenal. Neither of us have any complaints.
Anybody else in the same situation? Ever been in the same situation?
My girlfriend (just a girl who is a wonderful friend) says we have "passion."
Is that what we have?
At first, this arrangement bothered me. Until I saw all my friends divorced and with no place to live. After 7 1/2 years in my first apartment, I just signed a 1 yr. lease on a new apartment, and, it didn't phase me in the least to do so. I look out after my own ass, I don't feel that anyone else is responsible for me; and, I am not responsible for anyone else. Not that I wouldn't help a friend get on their feet.
Confused? Me, too. Just kidding!
Thanks for your input.
