Do you carry a pocketknife?

Do you agree? Do you carry one?
Currently, I have a Buck X-tract Essential in my pocket.

The idea of leaving the house with a blade of any kind scares the absolute bejesus out of me!
Really...unless your carrying one for a working purpose (not including holding up little old ladies as a job description) do you really really need one?
This is where I have probably queued up a brigade of people telling me its for 'personal protection'!

Its strange how one topic can have two completely different first impression reactions from two people!

You were sexy before (no doubt about that) but, if it is possible, I think you just got a lil sexier (a Gerber, that’s some bad assery right there, girl).
I would love to see your blades. I do find it interesting that they are all fixed. Can you explain?
I have to agree with Smiles. I never really thought of a pocketknife as much of a weapon. I guess it would do in a pinch, but so would a lot of things when you think about it (you've got to do what you've got to do and all that). But if I was actually planning on carrying something to protect myself or others, I would probably prefer something that would not require me to get as close to my attacker as is required with a small knife. But I am curious, what exactly makes you nervous about carrying a small blade? What is it that concerns you (assuming you are not breaking the law of course)?
Please do not immediatly dismiss all of my threads as jokes (interestingly, I did post an actual joke, but no one seems to get it). Anyway, this is a serious topic. However, fear not, I do plan to revist the Great Ball Weigh in thread very soon.
Unlike BA and some others, I do not have much reason to use my pocketknife in my work. To be honest, if I am at work and using it for anything other than opening a letter, someone should probably be calling the police. However, in general, I do find many uses for my knife.
Actually, my pocketknife is a bit more than just a knife. It has a blade, scissors, and 2 screwdriver bits. For example, yesterday I used it 1) to remove a loose thread on my shirt, 2) opened several packages that had arrived in the mail, and 3) unscrewed something to insert batteries.
I have attached a picture of my pocketknife, along with my keys and watch in order to provide some perspective on the size of the blade.

I also got a penknife and lasted me something like a week until I lost it. Sometime I do think "shit, if I had a knife" but as I'm prone to lose that kind of things (Lighters, pens, mobiles, etc) never got another

I also got quite a large knife with a legpouch as a gift this year, I think i'd feel weird wearing it. I tried it and it is not very comfortable.
Then, i work in a school so I shouldn't be carrying knifes around with me...
