Also in my (strong) opinion, no vicar/priest/pope etc has the right to forgive anyone sins or tell them that they have cleansed their souls just because they offer up a confession.
I hate the "oh father forgive me for I have sinned, today I took a shotgun and blasted my wife through the head, now i've confessed, can I have penance and then spend the rest of my life guilt free?" "of course you may, its fine that you've taken another persons life, just say 10 hail mary's and be done with the guilt my son"
load of crap and like I said, doesn't need an Iphone app to help out.
The truly religious talk to their god in their heads, they don't need a middle man or apps on a phone to help them get there.

like I said before, some of my family are very religious but wouldn't dream of using an Iphone app to follow their faith.
