But saying "Apple shouldn't have allowed it" is not true, because it is called freedom of speech. It is not forcing anyone to be straight if they are gay. If you don't like the app, don't download it.

The suggestion that gayness is an illness that needs curing is offensive and not in line with modern science.
On a related note has anyone seen the guy who complained to bioware that dragon age 2 needed a "no homosexual relationships" button cause he was offended the gay companion character kept hitting on him.
He dressed it up as "speaking for the straight male gamer" but to me, (a straight male gamer) it came off as homophobe 101.

Yes, things are improving, and the general trend is more towards inclusion of all sexual preferences, but the fact remains that young homosexuals are still targeted, that young homosexual males are still seen as being so promiscuous, overly iffeminate types, and as a consequence, many young men trying to find their identity gravitate towards those stereotyped images of how they should represent themselves.
I guess what I am trying to say is, this is still a very sensitive time, and I think it may be a bit too early to start saying its okay for people to openly express their hatred of homosexuality because of freedom of speech or what have you, after finally getting to the point where it is almost acceptable to the larger culture. Even once things progress towards that point, there are a lot of social pressures on young gay and lesbian people these days from within their own communities to be things that they are not, that there will still need to be more work done. Why stop now?
p.s. I can only really talk about what the gay community is like here in Toronto as I dont know what it is like elsewhere, but its pretty much mayhem here, the young gay people my age are either all partying so often, or almost completely shut out from the gay scene, because it is so overly stereotyped and empty in a lot of ways.
p.p.s. im also not gay, just pretty active in lgbtq issues, i hope i didnt offend anyone with my opinions here xP

Your posts in this thread seem rather contradictory. No offense, but I'm not entirely sure that you understand what genes are? Genes are not a bad thing. Genes are what make up who you are.
Do you realize that the vast majority of gay people believe they were born gay?

that may be your case, but the ones i know tell me theirs is a choice. genes can also be bad things too.downssyndrome kids are that way because of an extra gene, would you label that a good gene? and i support rights for everybody in the usa,not just the ones who folks feel like granting those rights too. last time people in the usa began denying rights to folks, the KKK was born and a lot of innocent good people were killed over their greed and fright! i never want to see that happen to people who are just as entitiled to their rights as everybody else!that's why hate and homophobia will always be the wrong choice in the usa!you want to kill somebody because that person hurt your of your loved ones,i'm fine with that!if you want to hate them because of their sexual prefernce, color, standing in society,or anything else,is wrong!

It's not a "gay cure" is it? Its designed to help those who believe in christianity but also are homosexual. therefore its helping them deal with the fact that they have feelings, emotions and urges their belief system disagrees with. and well... if theyre christian and gay, then surely the app is a good thing?
I have a family member and two friends who are chrsitian and homosexual. And i know its an extremely difficult thing for them. Feelin your wrong and sinful but not being able to help it?
