Now, I think something that's more functional about dancing workouts is the actual dancing. Have you thought about looking at learning dancing through DVD's? Some dances give you a real workout without actually stating it, and you actually develop body coordination and core strength by performing some of the steps. For instance, if you copy what merengue male dancers do, you'll get a ridiculous cardio out of it. Then, some of the rumba steps are so freaking controlled that if you lack the right core strength, you could easily fall on the floor rather ungracefully; and of course, to do the movements with grace is another level of workout... More like pilates I'd say, but standing.
I used to take a zumba class at the gym where I frequent, but the Arab guy who was giving it left... What a loss... I'm still grieving... Hopefully the Indian woman that gives the Yoga class will never leave.

Dance fitness DVDs are a load of rubbish, because it relies upon too many variables
You want to get dance fit, borrow your little cousins Wii and get a dance game, then have dance game tournaments every night.

To be honest, dancing to a dvd on TV should be easier with the big screen
