I wanted braces instead, but apparently they'd cost a reet whack!!
I'm not sure if I want to spend the rest of my life chewing rubber in my sleep

And mouth guards are so darn uncomfortable! Got mine done at the dentist and this is all very well, but depends on the technician who moulded it - always felt mine was illfitted and told her this to no avail. I often go to bed with it in, & wake with it somewhere in the bed. Have resorted to chemist type sportsguard.
Also, I think the initial cause may have been prompted by a stressful time in my life (am stress free now) but the actual grinding is habitual and/or due to a bad bite. Would love to get Invasalign braces to correct cross bite on lower teeth, but as is usual in Oz, dental treatments are thousands of dollars. Govt should pay - as it is a medical issue and lots of dental probs can cause other medical maladies i.e. the link between calculus/tartar and heart disease if you don't have prof. cleans.
Ugh! Drives me nuts.
Might try the other type of guard mentioned above.

I can honestly say that for me it's been really on and off.
It's been said in the thread by a fair few people that stress and sleep apnea are pretty big contributors and I've definitely got to agree!
My partner does it on and off and she's been like that since we've met. I've just started this year. lol
Lately neither of us have been doing it and I honestly think it's because there's less stress. I've found that when we're exercising and just generally being happy we sleep really bloody well and there's next to no grinding.
Well that's our story anyway lol.
